In this video, we’re going to talk about omega-3 fatty acids and some of the best omega-3 foods. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids, which means they must come from the diet. The 3 main omega-3s are DHA, EPA, and ALA.

DHA is good for the brain, eyes, and heart. Some of the best sources of DHA are fish, fish oil, algae, eggs (pasture-raised, organic), and grass-fed beef. DHA is also incredibly important for dementia and other memory issues.

EPA is good for the eyes and heart, and is a great anti-inflammatory agent. Sources of EPA are the same omega-3 foods that contain DHA.

ALA is beneficial for your heart and brain and is also a potent anti-inflammatory agent. Flax, chia, and walnuts are good sources of ALA.

Been taking fish oil since 2004. I am 56 and compared to my classmates I have a more youthful appearance and a youthful disposition. At family gatherings I play flag football with the kids instead of sitting around.

You know what really convinces me about this particular Doctor is his outward look of health! I mean the guy has got to be close to 50 years old in this video but, his skin looks as well as mine and I'm 33 years old.

Dr. Berg, I avoid omega 6 fats and try to eat a can of Cod Liver twice a week to improve my omega3-to-omega6 ratio---is it a good idea to save the extra cod liver oil in a sealed Tupperware in the fridge to add to salads, or does it oxidize, defeating the purpose? Thanks!

Hey Dr Berg! Any chance you can do a video on the differences of fish oil vs krill oil vs cod liver oil vs a CoQ10 (and any others I may have missed)? Which you recommend (type / brand)? I used to do a generic OTC fish oil, I have a family member who does CoQ10, and have heard of others doing cod liver oil. Thanks!

Are you referribg to flax seed oil like from barleans or flax seeds? I was told flax seed oil in any form can not only damage your liver but also rases your estrogen levels. I was told to stop giving it to my son
