It is heartbreaking to see that the children and grandchildren didn't seem to want any of these treasures that meant so much to Mary and Elmer.

for some reason this one made me so sad for their children and grandkids to just leave it all in the house and just forget it

The hole in the wall in the downstairs half bath was most likely made by thieves steeling the copper pipes. The house made me so sad. Thanks for showing their memories!.

That's something I learned long before any abandoned videos were made.

We surround ourselves with items, but that's really all they are. It's the memories we make in life, we hold, no matter where we are.

I just can't understand why people leave these places to just rot with no one caring enough to rescue their memories. So sad.

Why or how can their Children or Grandchildren leave all those memories behind!!! Pictures are priceless and they will never be able to capture that time again, blows my mind!!! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I like the family photos, too bad they are left behind. If only children valued more their parents' loving memory...
Thank you for this nice video, guys! You're a great team, as always!

I’m glad to hear someone comment on how nice those old ovens are. My mom had a similar Kenmore when I was a kid and got rid of it when the glass top trend came along, but still complains about missing the old Kenmore oven. They would run forever and were designed to be repaired.

I'm so glad you both explored this place and it wasn't destroyed yet. I watched another explorer at this house and people have trashed it. So so sad. I wish for a beautiful house like that for myself one day. I love you both and so special how you treat everyone's home with so much respect. She had cancer. Her paperwork is in the freezer.

I hope she wasn’t left alone with dementia, even with notes. I had a neighbor with dementia who wandered off.
One morning, very early, I heard a knock at my back door and there was Mr. Bolte and he was crying. I asked him what was wrong, thinking maybe his elderly wife had passed and he needed help. I brought him inside and then he asked me if I knew where he lived. He’d gone for his customary morning walk and couldn’t remember where his house was. If he’d walked a little further he may have seen his house and recognized it, but I am glad he recognized my house and stopped to ask for help. I have to admit it made me cry too. He was always so sweet to my sons, chatting with them through the fence. I walked him next door to his house and checked on him regularly after that.

I've got to say that I cry almost every time I watch your videos, and that's no disrespect to you Lesley and Denny. But I imagine in my head all these happy people living their lives, doing things that they enjoy, and raising their children! This couple had a wonderful life and seem to truly have loved each other and I imagine Mary ( I hope that I didn't get the name wrong) spending those last years alone! I believe that we all continue on past our lives in our stories and I am the keeper of these 2 spinster sisters life stories who lived together and looked after cats which people threw over their fence! But apart from that they shared many, many stories with me but no one wants to hear about them anymore and, because they are the last of the linage of, quite possibly, one of the Duke's of Bedford in England and his French mistress, who's name their father took and consequently so did his daughters, their name will, when I die, l never again be remembered!. I think that's why I am always so moved by your videos guys because you keep these memories alive by taking us with you on these voyages of discovery! We walk through these places with you! I don't know if anyone reading this has ever watched the movie "The Others" with Nicole Kidman" but I loved that movie because it mentions the "Other"people who's history is shared in the home, by many generations. I'm sorry that this is so long but thank you for reading! Love the channel.

Maybe Mary did what I did, for some of the family pictures, I made copies for my kids for their own albums, who knows. This house remin ds me of mine, those great old stereos last so long, and the records. The pieces of our lives we leave behind are memories etched in our hearts forever :) thank you Danny and Lesley for sharing this sweet farmhouse with us.

This wouldn't happen if humans were willing to live in a healthy interconnected society, made of close-knit communities that would support and value each member.
There could be centers dedicated to history and storytelling. Everyone could record their voices and their personal memories, sharing how it was while they were growing up & leaving critical knowledge (gardening, survival skills etc.. for future generations.
And their pictures would be available for all to access- to put a face with the the voices.
I fear that soon, there will be millions of such ghost-homes as this- abandoned and left with fractured memories inside. So very sad...😔

Hello guys.
I remember seeing this house explored by someone else at least seven years ago.
It was not much different though less dug through.
I think the electrical panel was operating and lighting was on.
The stereo (record player) was on the TV.
Many items and the style is similar to my mother's mother.
I can't remember if the art was still on the wall, I'm thinking it was.
The picture of Emily and the school or church pictures were the daughter.

The film items set up high are
"Previewers" for editing purposes.
The actual Projectors look like a suitcase & the screen a long tube on a stand.
They're missing and I don't remember seeing them the last time either, (or her cameras, which would have been a
Polaroid One Step (circa 1977) (from memory)
& a mini "110"(example Hanimex like I had, or Vivitar, Kodak, perfect for travel). I also had one as well). Both were "point and shoot" no focus type camera.

I think the mystery easy for me to solve why it sits 18 years.
Emily and her husband currently own it and it will be handed over to the grandkids when they pass away. The "children" will be around 80 at least.
I agree it's sad that the pictures sit fading away which is what literally happens when they sit on a table in front of a window...fade away to blank like the memory.
The grandkids probably have no idea what to do with them and don't recognize the people except for the grandparents.
They're probably busy with instagram.
The "stone wall" was a very necessary thing - the Chimney -

I hope the grandkids show up and look after it before idiots burn it down like happened around here.

Another great video Lesley and Danny. It always saddens me when family leave's their parents as well as their personal belongings behind to rot and decay along with their child hood home. They should of had an estate sale and donated the rest. Without this video Lesley and Danny the kids wouldn't have any memories left of what once was. Blessings to you both. See you on your next

It looks like the shower wall was destroyed by someone to get the copper pipes so they can sell them for money, the big key on the wall was likely made of copper too. Sad someone has not saved all those photographs. Thank you for the great explore. :)
