Great tips! BBQ safety cannot be overemphasized. I would add to start with simple cooks and learn how your cooker runs. As you gain more experience, you can jump into the complex cooks. Prime tip - have fun!

Great info. As already mentioned, a good thermometer is also a good tool. For pellet grill owners, one mistake I made early on was not paying attention to the slope of my concrete patio. Most concrete patio’s are sloped away from the home. The pellet grill’s drip tray and bucket should follow the downward slope of the concrete, otherwise you could end up with grease dripping into the bottom of your pellet grill. This is more of a problem with my Traeger than it is with my Recteq.

My early experiences included learning about proper seasonings and the resting period, which really does make a difference. Really appreciate you and your willingness to help others

I love this video! As an engineer I've been thinking a tool cart is what I was wanting. A question though: Where I live I can't put the cart into like a garage or shed. Would covering it with a tarp be ok? I'm thinking it would, but you are the BBQ Queen!

If you are using a folding table as your station, it helps to use some butcher paper to cover the table so you aren't leaving hot grease marks/stains on the table. I've learned that the hard way!

A good thermostat is super important. If you’re using a charcoal grill I can’t recommend a chimney enough.

Commit to cleaning your grill! Gas, pellet, or charcoal, develop a routine for a quick (5 minute) clean after each use and deeper cleans periodically. This is a must for safety and the longevity of your grills.

You forgot an instant read thermometer. Cook by temperature not by time.

Had a Recteq an d it had burnback issues several times. Shutdown process for it isn't sufficient. Be careful out there. And YES, I cleaned it and did everything by the book. Their software is too quick for a proper shut down, IMO.

Cleaning a hot grill with beef fat and Aluminum foil does wonders removing the grime from charcoal grills.
