Fun fact: Boomerangs (at least in the hunting sense) don’t actually return to the thrower! They’re meant as a heavy bludgeoning range weapon that you could throw and smash in the skull of an animal. Or at least that was their original purpose, to my knowledge.

For anyone wondering boomerangs were not invented by the British when they invaded. They were created by the original Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples of Australia, who uses them for hunting.

Ah I love how some of these I can immediately name their origin and facts without looking, but it’s great seeing others I have no idea about and then going “wait I’ve seen this somewhere!”

Side fun fact: Katana’s were used as their own sword, but more commonality Samurai used a second smaller sword called a Wakizashi or Tachi that would’ve been the Katana’s “pair sword” of sorts!

As an Australian I would take the boomerang off this list because the boomerangs that return to throwers are training boomerangs and aren’t weapons. Killer boomerangs/Hunting Boomerangs can hurt animals and people but don’t return back to the throwers, the reason training boomerangs return back is because it is mainly used for kids to learn how to use a killer one and it helps them learn and understand more of hunting when they grow up.

Another weapon idea is a lance :D
They’re like spears but with a sharp metal tip, sometimes on both sides. (I could be wrong though lol) They were used around the middle ages, so they’re great if you have medieval themed characters. (ex: knights, etc)
