Will someone please explain to me why some mathematicians consider vectors and points identical when they are so clearly fundamentally different regardless of if they happen to have the same x and y elements!!!!

The experiences i got from the videos of PROFESSOR WALTER LEWIN were way better and soothing.. please agree .. a Legend is a Legend.. I felt really sad the day he and his videos were removed... the reasons, according to them, were strong (may be)... but please, 8.01 means him and him only... and the other two courses too...
