Unit Vectors & Scalar Multiplication (in 3 dimensions)

This Calculus 3 tutorial video explains both scalar multiplication and unit vectors in 3 dimensional space. We show how to multiple a vector by a scalar, and we describe what scalar multiplication does geometrically in 3D space. Then we look at unit vectors, the standard unit vectors (i, j, and k), and how to find a unit vector in the direction of another vector.
