This tip is super helpful. I found a giant cave lake, recently, and managed to find my fair share of diamonds down there. Not an underwater cave, but same premise. It's a solid way to find them.

If you are willing to risk getting folded into an origami crane by a warden, shaving the sculk in the deep dark biome reveals a bunch of diamonds

"I highly recommend getting water armour first or water breathing potions"
Me: brings a stack of oak doors

Bonus tip: If you happen to have a conduit and some prismarine, set it up in a water cave for infinite breathing and faster mining

Bring doors too, they give air pockets when placed (on JAVA) so they're very useful for not drowning if you don't have enchants or potions

Branch mining in y -54 is the best way. Because first, deep caves have more diamonds, especially at y -54. And second, it will be surrounded by blocks, so no air exposure, which like Wattles said in the short, is a better way to find diamonds.

I've been calling this method Water Mining.

⚠️CAUTION⚠️
There is a lot of reading up ahead, you have been warned!!⚠️:

I'm basically just going to explain the Water Mining method I use, yes I know no one asked, but I recommend reading it if you are that type of person who likes trying out different ways to begin a new world.

When I start a world I first get a furnace, some wood and a stone pickaxe.
-Next I head straight for the nearest ocean and try finding a magma block anywhere under the sea.
-After finding a few I search for Ocean Ravines.
-Once I have found one, I use the magma blocks I have to regenerate my bubbles while searching for atleast 3 iron ores in the ocean ravine.
-Since its underwater I can easily swim through it while being able to see the blocks nearby me.
-After obtaining 3 iron ores, I smelt them using the furnace with the wood as fuel.
-I upgrade my pickaxe, then I go back in the ravine and gather enough iron/diamonds for armor and tools.

This method is a really good way to easily and quickly find ores early game, there are a few problems though.
-You constantly need to be near a wall/ground to properly use the magma blocks.
-If playing on any difficulty above Peaceful, you'll need to be extra cautious of drowns since you won't have much food on you or any weapons to defend yourself.
-You constantly need to be aware of your bubbles so you won't take damage and therefore need food to regenerate health.
-Mining is EXTREMELY SLOW and it may take a long time to gather all the materials you want.
-Sometimes finding magma blocks/Ravines will take a while, you'll just need to have some patience and dedication to the stradegy.
-Sometimes you will need to search for more ravines if the one you have doesn't have anymore ores visible.
-For some people, Juggling all these different conditions at once can be stressful, but will need some getting used to.

Like I said before, I recommend this method as a new way to try starting out in a new world. It's not going to be for everyone, but it is worth a try atleast once! Thank you for reading through all of this and I hope you have a nice day!! 😄

You could also use a magma block super efficient

Thanks for the tip; I've been having a difficult time finding anything but coal and raw copper since the update.

They need to fix bedrock mob spawning on hard difficulty already. Looks like such a barren wasteland 😢

Or you can just go that deep and use TNT. Copy the world and set it creative and lay a line of TNT across the ground between axis -50 to -60
Take a screenshot of all locations, come back in your main survival world and you have many many diamonds

This is a really great tip!! But I have a genuine question, how much diamonds can actually spawn in a world? And at what rates per 16x16 chunks? I’ve been strip mining recently and only find around 3 stacks or more per chunk. When usually back in the day (last time I played) I could get as much as a full inventory.

On your raid farm video, does it work on bedrock?

Bring a door or bring magma block and hold shift while walking on top of it underwater, it’s infinite oxygen

I might try this, because my base is close to two aquifers.

Don't forget a Conduit or two (full) for the really big flooded caves you can find in the ocean. Water breathing, kills nearby hostile mobs, but also grants Night Vision!
