its all really just about how we're used to the way things are put together, like the leveler is often combined with seriousness and warnings, so when used in the context of "just ask if you got questions" the body language silently tells us "do not ask questions"

I think theres a difference between the leveler and the salesman. Leveler is bouncing up and down and is more of a calming down "its alright" while the stiff slahmshing motions are mildly agressive and authoritative like you called the leveler. Idk i feel like its a neutral
