The ONLY Stereo Widening Plugin I Use | Polyverse WIDER

If you want to make a source WIDER, I definitely don't recommend stereo widening plugins... until now! Wider by Polyverse is INSANE. It can make a source SUPER wide without introducing any phase issues that would hurt your sound.
And it's completely FREE.

Just downloaded Wider. I really enjoy using it. On lower levels it's really giving a track a different live.

Hi Colin. Thanks for this excellent and timely tip. I was just recording a solo on my Spanish/classical guitar when your mail arrived. I had tried to double the recording and pan left-right to get a fuller sound, but it feels a bit "unnatural" on a track that is meant to represent a single instrument in solo mode. So I put this plugin on the single track and it did an excellent job widening the sound image of the guitar. Thanks again. // Ulf

I think this does the old trick of splitting the mono sound to left and right channels and delays one of them for a small amount of milliseconds.

Just installed it and tried it first on a GarageBand drummer track. Great result, really makes the track come alive. Looking forward to trying it on other things.

I’m very surprised this is a free plug-in.
I really like the wide effect on the acoustic guitar. I do a lot of recordings with acoustic guitar. But I usually make it sound wider by recording two tracks and pan them left right. I’m definitely going to experiment with this plug-in. It saves time to only record one track and specifically when the acoustic is part of the energetic drive of the song, this is a great and easy way to bring it a bit more to the front

I’m thinking it probably works better on synths because they are digital. And I always find it hard to make digital sounds sound wider.

Good evening Colin. Thanks for this pointer. I have this question: Can this have any role in the mastering of a song?

I have the wider plug-in but my question is if you recommend using it on a master track or a GarageBand drummer track where the parts cannot be separated. Thank you

Hey thank you for your videos they have taken me from literally no knowledge of mixing vocals or using garage band to be able to get acceptable mixes in like a week that people have said are pretty good.

I wanted to ask specifically with regards to this plugin, I want my vocals to sound wider but when I used this plug in the kind of sound phasey and not nice, is there a way I can record the vocals differently to overcome this? I know I could take 3 takes and pan 2 of them wide but I rap and so it tends to sound a bit messy when I do that.

Additionally, is there a way in garageband to save my plugin list? like I know on the EQ for example I can save it an click it again next time bu is there a way to save the whole chain so I can just slap it on a new vocal recording? I tried to research this but couldn't find the answer and haven't seen it crop up in your videos yet.

Again thank you so much for this channel, it is helpful. You explain things really nicely too. De-essing with TDR Nova dynamic EQ has been a life saver as I have awful sibilance.
