Loyal dog fights black bear to protect its owner, but the owner raises his gun on the dog.

Title: 0ld Yeller. A teenage boy is left to take care of the family ranch with his mother and younger brother while his father goes off on a cattle drive. An old yellow dog comes for an uninvited stay with the family, the family reluctantly adopts the dog. Later, the dog is beloved by all.
