SCP 001 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as Reality Unfolds - The Way The World Ends.

SCP-001 is a smooth, black, perfectly ellipsoidal (~15.1 cm x 15.4 cm x 16.5 cm) onyx gemstone with a mottled white pattern. Wrapped around its exterior, encompassing its equator and both poles, is a complex and layered fractal filigree of gold metal.
SCP001 continuously emits a small quantity (~34.5007 to 34.5010 mW) of thermal radiation in the microwave range.

I've wondered for a while what would happen if several SCP-Apocalypses happened at once. The coming of the Scarlet King, the opening of the Guardian's Gate, the events involving SCP-5000, the expansion of the Wanderer's Library... some here to squash free will and humanity, others to bring humanity into a higher level of existence! If what they said is true to SCP lore, that all means of apocalyptic ends have been unleashed... this stone is the barrier containing such an event. One that would most surely result in a war unimaginable and incomprehensible!

I like to think that the true 001 is the foundation itself. Because thats the only one that makes sense to me, it's the first scp, the first one ever contained. Which means that the scp foundation can't have been in full swing before they found 001.
Which means it makes sense for it to be something intrinsically tied to the founding of the foundation
