If this can accidently happen when well-intentioned admins 'take care', imagine what the tens of thousands of bad guys want to shut the internet down. We need to be aware of how to not become *totally* internet dependent. What would happen to your bitcoin transactions when you can't transact, for example.

Interesting, i have had that error message on my personal pc for over three months. Even factory reset did not fix it. I had to send it in to asurion for repairs. Looks like something sinister.

So 100 percent media reports are completely wrong.

What CAUSED the massive outage, where the companies using this software in the first place. Both Microsoft and Crowdstrike, recommend setting up contingency plans, backup plans, when not if, their software fails, or an update fails. Testing patches and updates.

Yes .... its IT workers across the world, They are directly to blame for this outage.
