The airline I took, not only allowed, but also tried to help in filming (flight attendant opening the inner curtain for me, and later the pilot opening a side curtain, though likely for the landing procedure), resulting in a landing video with more than a million views now. Well done both, you mentioned steps ;) people have no idea!!! 5 hours on a treadmill did not prepare me for getting to Namche was fun I know, Your video has to be the most captivating reminding me of the steps I took April 2024 seeing new years in and taking a helicopter down myself. hard work well worth the leg muscles. Cant wait to see how you took the 200M down and 500M up getting to the Tengbouche Monastery

Difficult? Nowhere near it. I have been there 5 times since 1985, last time I was 65 years old already, with titanium artificial hips on both sides. Also made a straight crossing from Dudh Kund Lake to upper Khumbu, maybe about the sixth foreigner ever to explore that route successfully.

Helicopter back is cheating. My first trek to EBC and around Khumbu took 42 days total, walking in and out from/to Jiri, including climb to Lho La (6000m pass north of EBC), Amphu Labtsa and Mera.
