USA Math Olympiad Question | a + b + c = ?

from initial equalities, it is easy to get 1/x = 3a, 1/y=3b, 1/z = 3c; then you can get 3a+3b+3c = 30

What's this one? Are they kidding? Decades ago, I've also taken part in a few Math Olympiads. But I must say, there were by far more difficult nuts to crack. Such simple tasks like the one above, almost everyone in my generation can solve easily. Such an extreme low level was then the standard in normal algebra lessons and tests at school, but not a task for Olympiad participants.
