Stop "push" behaviors--begging, whining, unnecessary crying (lowers your apparent value)
Don't start fights
Don't "hover" (spoken like a helicopter pilot's wife!)--don't track, monitor, stalk; destroys trust


Manage "business" items together: areas for which you'll have to talk--taxes, children, mortgages; DO keep spouse updated here. Avoid negative interactions, even if they want to fight! Be strong, calm, and gentle. Calling is preferred to text messages due to possibility for misinterpretation/escalation. Then, once trust is built, you can start asking simple, non-emotional questions: "How was your day at work?" Then, allow your spouse to start conversations with you. VERY important that you remain safe, calm, strong, and gentle (even playful/friendly as appropriate?) if your spouse engages you, no matter how he/she has been toward you--but of course, don't tolerate abuse. Be gentle with yourself, too, because you won't be perfect every time.


Take it one day at a time. Some days will be better than others. May seem like your relationship is regressing.

Thank you very much. My wife and I have separated for several weeks now and I've been going out of my mind. I've caused it because of problems in myself and infidelity with social media. Watching this video has calmed and focused me. Again thank you! Since the separation I've stopped all behaviors. Apologized asked for forgiveness and taking steps proving my love and devotion for her. Also have started counseling weekly to repair our marriage. I hope to regain my wifes love and trust one day. Guys listen to me!!! Stupid behaviors comments texting talking anything online to another woman will break your woman's heart and make her walk away. Love your woman. Show her and tell her! Be faithful. Don't be cocky or naive thinking she's not going to leave you because she will eventually. Don't take her love for granted. Reciprocate to her what she has given you. Make her life easier not difficult. Don't say things do them! Prove you love her before its too late! Thank you.

Superb advice. I'm currently in the process of divorce and I've read and watched a LOT since my wife told me she had her lawyer send the papers to court, and this is very to the point. Crisp and clear. I've already tried some of this and had some successes but sadly it's not enough, my wife's very headstrong and convinced she's going to get a better life away from me, even though I've changed so much and grown for the better as a person. Good luck to anyone going through this process... it is hell.
