Little did Abraham Zapruder know that he was filming what would become the most shocking and talked about home movie in history. Almost 60 years later, it's still shocking to see.

I remember seeing the Zapruder film for the first time on a show hosted
by Geraldo Rivera in I think 1975. The gasps from the audience members
seemed deafening at the time. I'm pretty sure the warning was given for
the graphic content that would be viewed. It was not an easy thing to
watch. It was really my first glimpse into an adult world that was years
away for me. It really had an impact on me because you only read about
it in the history books they handed you. But to see it unfold on a TV set as
Zapruder had filmed it was shocking just the same as that terrible day.

I was very young when our family watched the Cronkite broadcast. It was a very angry and depressing time for America. My dad said Johnson was behind it.

I still can't believe that there wasn't A SINGLE NEWS CAMERA pointing at the motorcade. Just the less than thirty seconds Zapruder film.

I was a freshman in high school when it was announced over the loudspeaker a day I will never ever forget

My Mom had the "Life" Magazine, kept it in the bathroom cupboard the towels. I must have looked at that Magazine 300 times (I was in 2nd grade when it happened) but remember EVERYTHING so vividly. 😥 Sadly the Magazine disappeared about 40 years ago.

When the motorcade started in Dallas, the President and the limo were filmed up close for blocks by newstations. When the motorcade reached Dealey Plaza, the only one filming and to capture the assassination was Zapruder.

One shooter theory would have worked had the Zapruder film not existed, but the head shot tells the true story of a second shooter.

In 1972 I was a very young photojournalist covering the presidential conventions in Miami Beach. I was hanging outside a network news production van and was discussing the Kennedy assassination with some members of the production crew. They asked me if I wanted to see the Zapruder film. At this time it had never been shown publicly. I was a marksman and competitive shooter from the time I was a Boy Scout. When I saw the film I immediately said Kennedy was shot from two directions almost simultaneously. I also said the shot from the front looked like the impact from an M16. In Barry Katz's documentary and interview with James Files, Files he said he took one shot with a Remington .221 Fireball pistol with a scope mounted from behind the fence on the grassy knoll. That round is almost identical ballistically to a .223 (5.56 NATO) round from and AR15 or M16.

And it amazes me that no one can see he was struck in the right/front of his head...when the bullet impacts his skull, bone, blood and brain radiate outward from the point of impact...nobody sees

As an Australian, I can say confidently that everyone of my generation would know where he or she was, when that dreadful news was released. 3 years later in late November 1966, I drove unwittingly into Dealey delivering a car to LA from parked opposite the grassy knoll...walked up to the 6th floor of the Texas Book Depository....opened the window...a tree partially blocked my view of the Dodge Dart I was seems so tiny from up had been in the Army, but doubted whether I could have hit the car with open sights. There is much we don not know.

Remember it like yesterday. I was in 3rd grade. The nuns came to each class and told us then sent everyone home. We all cried with fear and sadness. The city of PGH morned and federal buildings were closed. My father was a policeman at the time and he didn't come home for a couple days. It was scary.

Dino Brugioni at CIA lab said this is not the complete film he processed that day and next in his interview with Douglas Horne on YT. Very honest duty officer. It seems like Zaptruder film taken straight there after confiscation by FBI.

I'm currently watching Dr. Jeremy Gunn speaking in London. He reported that Life magazine bought the Zapruder Film and misreported on the facts shown on that video.

It is clearly visible from the slow motion that it was the driver who shot

"He worked out a deal with Abraham Zapruder, getting the magazine exclusive rights to the video". My, these newscasters are getting younger and younger. Although the word "film" is used quite often, she still referred to Zapruder's work as "video".
