How to Outline Lettering in Procreate

If your letters don’t go blue it’s because the app colour selects the opposite colour of your text. For example I did mine in black so it came out white.

Just keep following the steps and you’ll get the desired outcome.

No matter how many videos I watch, this doesn’t work for me.

Not working. The moment I start to slide the Gaussian blur it all goes wrong. It’s like everything inverts. I’ve followed along this video (and several others) step by step & each time I try to extend the blur things don’t look anything like what I’m watching.

I did all the steps, but when I clicked on Automatic the whole screen turns a different color

This was an awesome tutorial EXCEPT one CRUCIAL step. I did it like 10 times after using the add text function and the entire screen kept highlighting instead of creating a nice little outline. To fix this you must select from INSIDE one of the letters when using the S Select function then drag out. If you just press the screen in a random place and drag out it does not work.

I lose my selection when i click on the layer panel I guess the updated version cant do this anymore

Do you have to rasterize the text layer first for this technique?

Took a few tries but it works! My lettering was way too small at first, I had to blow it up to fill the screen

Easy to follow, but I think you missed out something near the end. Unfortunately, I couldn’t achieve that final step using the hard airbrush. Otherwise your instructions were very clear.
