That is needlessly complicated when in photoshop you can just select “outline” and “drop shadow”.
Procreate need to start adding these already well established features

Am i missing a step on the "hide the blur layer, create new layer and fill it" part? Do i need to set the blur area as a reference or something? It just fills in the whole page

you made that so unecesarely hard just duplicate the layer with the writing coloyr drop it black make it bigger and center it with the snap lines and for the shadows duplicate the black writing layer make it smaller move it down and join the corners with black and if you want the outline to be softer merge the 2 black writing layers and apply like 1 or 2 percent gausian blur

Why not just duplicate the layer, alpha lock, paint it a random color, and then move it with the selection tool? And then connect the edges if you need too?
