Russia is entering its third year of war in Ukraine with an unprecedented amount of cash in government coffers, bolstered by a record $37 billion of crude oil sales to India last year, according to new analysis, which concludes that some of the crude was refined by India and then exported to the United States as oil products worth more than $1 billion. #CNN #News

India buying crude oil from Russia is a problem but Germany buying gas from Russia is not a problem.

China/India buying from Russia and then US/EU buying from China/India is classic Adam Smith.

What will happen if India or no country buys Russian oil? The price of crude is going to sky rocket. No country/society will be able to handle the price hike..

The UK also uses a "refinery loophole" where Russian oil is refined in a third country like lndia and is then legal for UK to buy

you have used a wrong map and showed some part of India as Pak and china...would you show parts of Ukraine as part of Russia as well

India isn’t a subservient nation to US interests. They have shared goals with the US but they have longer standing relations with Russia and there is zero reason for them to jeopardize that.

So if India doing trade with Russia 'funds' the war isn't India also 'funding' the war because of its trade with Ukraine ??? It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

India refines this oil and ships it to Europe! So ultimately, it's Europe which is fueling this war and they are doing it knowingly!

The EU/US were like "India you buy tonnes of oil from Russia, we'll buy it from you so the media can blame you"

Dont forget how nixon / kissinger threatened this strategic ally with the 7th fleet in the 70s.

There is no denying that energy prices would be higher (may be significantly) if countries like India and China stopped buying Russian oil. Is the West okay with that?
Also, some European countries still buy Russian oil and gas.
25% of US uranium needs are met from Russia (used for powering nuclear reactors).
Russia is a major exporter of oil & gas and it is simply impossible to shut them out of the global supply chain.

As a trucker, I’ve been saying this the entire time. I saw my monthly fuel average jump from 5k a month to 10k a month average when the sanctions went in

This is karma for US having taking Pakistans side when it came to India. Russia always supported India.

A strategic partner is not an ally. China was a strategic partner against the Soviet Union. India is a strategic partner against China.

They’re not obligated to act just like you to be a partner. If you don’t like it end the partnership, so they can get with someone else.

Thank India you keep your economy going. If India stops supplying refined oil, there will be anarchy in Europe. The US probably will be fine because they have their oil but Europe will be completely broken, already automobile companies and in general the European economy are falling in recession.

I have watched videos wherein Indian foreign minister cleared the smoke and mentioned "What India buys in a quarter is what EU buys in an afternoon". I agree with India, it's hypocrisy to point at a nation which is starving for energy while EU who is directly impacted with this war and has energy security, still imports biggest amount of gas from Russia.
