Please join the Atlantic Council and the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity for an event entitled Pulling at the Strings: The Kremlin’s Interference in Elections, on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Council Headquarters (1030 15th Street NW, 12th Floor, West Tower Elevators).
For years, Russia under Vladimir Putin has engaged in activities aimed to destabilize democracy in Europe and the United States. The Kremlin employs an asymmetric arsenal, including cyber-attacks, online manipulation, and disinformation campaigns to influence the outcome of democratic elections. The threat posed by Kremlin meddling requires Western governments, civil society, and the private sector to take steps to build resilience and resistance against disinformation campaigns and interference.
The event will begin with a fireside chat between Senator Mark Warner and Senator Marco Rubio. This will be followed by a strategic panel discussion focused on the Kremlin’s spectrum of asymmetric tools and capabilities to interfere in elections, as well as its tactics of disinformation.
We hope you can join us for this timely discussion.
