Detroit 4-53T Silver Rescue

A good look at the Silver Series 4-53T. Engine is in great shape overall, in the coming days I'll assemble all the parts back on and pressure wash for storage.

It's still a wonder to me after all these years how such a thin layer of oil can allow bearings to last so long. Cool find!

Nice find, junk or not ! Wow, yes I had a blue spec rocker cover sticker on the 353, I believe they run quietly, well less noise than non silver any way, great find !

hello greetings, a few years ago in a factory where I worked they had one of those engines I investigated and it turned out to be a 453 T with an Allison transmission and it ended up in recycling

Wow, that's cool! Is there a way to tell if it's a Silver Series just by looking at it? What are the advantages and differences?
