Spin down your blood and find out what it's made up of. Rishi is a pediatric infectious disease physician and works at Khan Academy. Created by Rishi Desai.

Health & Medicine on Khan Academy: No organ quite symbolizes love like the heart. One reason may be that your heart helps you live, by moving ~5 liters (1.3 gallons) of blood through almost 100,000 kilometers (62,000 miles) of blood vessels every single minute! It has to do this all day, everyday, without ever taking a vacation! Now that is true love. Learn about how the heart works, how blood flows through the heart, where the blood goes after it leaves the heart, and what your heart is doing when it makes the sound “Lub Dub.”

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

I also love your videos. I struggle retaining the content of my 2 hour nursing degree lectures. Its so much info I retain nothing actually. Now with the basics from your videos sitting snugly in my brain I feel like I can take the next step with the more complicated stuff. THANK YOU !!! I was about to give up but not now :)

rishi is much better than sal at teaching in my opinion. maybe because i am a visual learner and visuals appeal to me better than words.

When using a refractometer you use the serum and plasma tp levels to get the fibrinogen. But you said the serum doesnt contain fibrinogen? Is it that the tp from the plasma figure minus the serum represents the content which is fibrinogen?

Thank you for this video!
For those who questioned why the word "Serum" was used, Fibrinogen is used for blood clot. Therefore, "serum" contains substances that are left after blood clot and is used for variety of diagnostic procedures.
