Do not buy a Hyundai or KIA until you watch this video, I read countless comments and DM's from people asking me to help them with their broken cars. Should I buy a new kia? How do I get my engine replaced in my KIA Optima?

There are a lot of reason's not to buy a car and in this video I give you some insight on what I deal with everyday. If you don't know already I have a series on my channel called KIA ENGINE SETTLEMENT where I cover all of the recalls related to Hyundai and KIA vehicles. In this video I share my personal opinion on why you shouldn't waste your time or hard earned money on any new Hyundai or KIA vehicle.

DETROIT – Hyundai is recalling more than 390,000 vehicles in the USA and Canada for two problems that can cause engine fires. In one recall, owners were told to park their vehicles outdoors until repairs are made.

The largest recall covers more than 203,000 Santa Fe Sport SUVs from 2013 through 2015. Some are being recalled a second time. Brake fluid can leak into the anti-lock brake computer, causing an electrical short that can lead to fires. Owners should park away from structures until the problem is fixed, according to documents posted Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Dealers will replace a fuse and replace the computer if necessary. Owners will be notified in June.

The brake computer problem has caused 18 fires in the USA but no injuries, according to documents.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall for 2019–2020 Hyundai Kona and 2020 Hyundai Ioniq electric vehicles after over a dozen battery fires were reported. The agency is also warning owners against parking their vehicles near their homes or any flammable structure.

An electrical short in the Kona’s lithium-ion battery cells increases the risk of fire while parked, charging, and driving, NHTSA said, adding, “The safest place to park them is outside and away from homes and other structures.”

Last month, Hyundai announced that it would recall some 76,000 Kona EVs built between 2018 and 2020 over battery fire concerns. It was the second recall for the Kona but the first one that was global in nature. The automaker also said it would recall some Ioniqs and electric buses that it manufactures. In total, Hyundai said it would recall 82,000 vehicles, which it estimates will cost $900 million.

HYUNDAI SAID IT WOULD RECALL 82,000 VEHICLES, WHICH IT ESTIMATES WILL COST $900 MILLION
The Kona’s battery is manufactured by LG Energy Solutions, which, like Hyundai, is also based in South Korea. LG Chem is a major supplier of lithium-ion batteries to automakers like General Motors, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and their respective parent companies Volkswagen Group and Daimler.

Hi Carl, This is a darned shame. Kia/Hyundai built assembly plants in/around West Point, GA and in Alabama, about an hour or so from each other. That brought a lot of jobs to their respective areas and if I remember correctly, it 'saved" West Point, GA's economy. I applauded Kia/Hyundai for bringing all these jobs to the U.S. but with all recalls could we see these plants closed down? I hope Kia/Hyundai resolve the quality control problems ASAP! Hundreds of direct jobs are at stake at Kia & Hyundai plus the related suppliers. I was looking forward to seeing the new mini-truck, Santa Cruz, on the highways soon. Great video as always.

Hello Carl. Thank you for all your information. I have a Hyundai sonata 2011 from the Alabama factory. There is a recall for the engine. I was wondering if the recall covers overheating. My engine keeps overheating. It is currently at the Hyundai dealer ship. He is saying that there needs to be a knocking sensor code in order to be part of the recall. I was wondering if you can help me with getting my car fixed.

Hi Carl. Does this engine issue cover 2016 Kia Forte? My car just had a engine failure this weekend. I called the dealer and they said it’s only for certain models. They looked up my vin and they said no recalls have been made for Forte. Any suggestions?

To straight out of content, I Have a 2012 KIA sorento, the DEALERSHIP doesn't want to Honor my 10 year 100, 000 mile warranty because someone looked at my vehicle and that voided my warranty, because they are really covering up the real issue of the Recall problems, is there any thing you can Recommend that I can do to Help from the KIA DEALERSHIP Corporation, it would be greatly appreciated.
