Avoid the 2023 Hyundai Palisade on Everyman Driver

If you have a growing family but aren't ready to take the minivan route, fear not, there are plenty of three-row SUVs that are capable alternatives. The Hyundai Palisade is one of the best in this class and this year's changes and additions should make it even more attractive. Like the closely related Kia Telluride, the Palisade provides a wealth of interior space for up to eight passengers. It's also similarly easy to drive and gets you a lot of features for the money, while distinguishing itself with a more luxurious style and personality.

The Palisade's softer suspension tuning trades some handling confidence for comfort when compared to the Telluride, but not to the extent that it could be a deciding factor between the two. If you're one of the rare shoppers seeking more driver engagement, the Mazda CX-9 or Volkswagen Atlas may be more to your liking. Compared to other SUVs in the class, the Palisade isn't quite as fuel efficient as the Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander (especially the hybrid Highlander), but when the final scores are tallied, the Hyundai Palisade still comes out on top overall.

I did a test drive on this one, and we are now thinking about purchasing it. I am 5'9, and am happy to report that I didn't notice any blind spots (unlike the Pathfinder). Car safety is number one on my list, and headrests are number two. So this is for the headrest folks out there! The headrest does go up and down, but you can not adjust it forward or backwards (no forward spring). However, this is the first time I have been in a vehicle without that feature that the headrest is comfortable! It is not angled forward at an odd angle, instead it is set up for people who drive using it. I was impressed. So few car reviewers actually point out head rests :D so thought I would drop this here, in case anyone happens to read it.

The slight increase on the base price is never the problem, it’s the dealerships mark ups

I have a 2022 Calligraphy. I have had it for 2 1/2 years and have had zero problems. Included maintenance only. Zero expense. I get about 18 mpg in the city and about 24-25 on the hiway. It is an AWD model.

I’ve got a 2021 model. I love it. Especially on road trips. I get over 400 miles on a full tank. Drive from Kentucky to Orlando with refuelling twice. All my kids stay charged up on their devices. It’s quiet. The highway adaptive driving thingy works well. Cruise control with stop and go. Only thing I wish I had gotten the awd option.

I have the 2023 Pallisade Limited. The heads up display and cameras, as well as the lane hugger feature and lane alarms, are real substantive uprades to safety. The heads up display alone will save on speeding tickets. It tells you the posted speed, your speed, and alterts you to cars in your blind spots.

Couple little bonuses I found on mine. (There's always something new I've found actually). If you use a charging plug in the front center hidden cargo hold (the purse area) you can thread the wires through an already manufactured hole in the console. I have a mount and the wireless charger is never used and the USB plug forces apple car play... no thank you. So convenient.
The other, you can voice command heated/ cooled seats, windows and more!

I bought the 2023 Limited and have been enjoying it so when i saw the title of this I thought "awe man, what did i miss?" Thank you for validating my purchase. It is, pound for pound, a great ride with lots of safety features and comfortable to drive.

If you buy this vehicle make sure than when/if you open the sunroof you verify the little pop up shield is properly aligned when you close it. Ours was misaligned and broke the shield, then because the shield broke, it wedged into the tracks of our sunroof so our sunroof popped out of alignment and wont close. Every forum I’ve seen people say you have to pay for a whole new assembly and lead time is months out and $$$

I rented one at Nashville airport. I own a Mercedes in Europe, but this was something else! It made our holiday even better in the usa!

What ruins this vehicle in my area in Florida is that the Hyundai dealers are ripping off buyers by tacking on around 20% onto the MSRP (non-negotiable) because they are in high demand. Good deal at MSRP, but not so at MSRP plus 20%. They should be ashamed.

Wife and I own a 2020 limited with 100k miles. There are no issues at all..get all the maintenance done as the manual states for the according miles.

We have a 2020 Limited, which was the top of the line for that model year. My advice is to spend the extra money and get the Calligraphy or Limited for 2023. The extras that are included are well worth the money. You'll get the 360º camera view, turning blind spot cameras, heated and ventilated front and middle row seats (rear seats are just heated) and heads-up display among other bonuses.

I purchased the 2023 Palisade with Calligraphy trim package in Dec 22 and I absolutely love the vehicle. The interior is luxurious and has power everything. Heated and cooled front and rear leather seats. Multi zone heating and AC for front and rear passengers. Even an intercom system for the passengers in the far rear seats. I use it for driving Lyft part time and I get lots of love from my passengers. That being said, I do have some concerns about the electronics package, especially the collision avoidance system. It seems to start alerting in situations where I'm not in a parking lot but just in heavy slow traffic as in when I am in the line to drop off a passenger at the airport. This doesn't seem normal to me and have asked the dealer to try a recalibration, but they claim that they do not see the behavior. It's a minor irritant and for now I can live with it.

Simply this and the telluride are best in class

No future unannounced 3 row Japanese suv can even afford to come close to this.
