My kid would start like this and within 10 mins be contorted into the shape of a body thats been shaken by a rabid dog haha! How do we keep them in this position?

On the back with no pillow. Side sleep will cause problems with the shoulders. There is no perfect position.

Great, now parents are gonna try to micro manage the position their kids sleep. Not to mention that it makes no sense. If you'd wake up because of an impinged nerve, you'd wake up in pain. And everybody moves in their sleep, which is good, else everybody would be walking around with pressure ulcers and nerve palsys. Focus instead on things that make sense or has a shred of evidence, like proper sleep hygiene, no tablet use during bed time and reasonable bed time hours, all so the kids are well rested. And if you're going to force this upon your kids, I hope you implement it yourselves, then you'll maybe see the ridiculousness of it and apreciate that you're not a kid in an age where parents have access to the internet.
