In today’s video I’ll go over my pick for the best bang for your buck all round Apple Ecosystem! You don’t have to keep on top of the most up to date Apple products to get a good value, and today we’ll go over why that is! This video is a little different from my previous Apple Ecosystem setups, which have all featured a MacBook and an iPad, as well as an iPhone. This time things are a little spicy!

Products in today’s video:

0:00 Intro
1:29 Methodology
3:51 iPad
6:51 Mac
9:47 iPhone
12:22 Value vs new

I’ve been running a 2010 Mac Pro as a server for several years and done most of my computing via iPad. Works great for me.

The 12 Mini is great when you have an iPad to supplement for a larger screen.

Today I don't have a comment or opinion. I just want to show appreciation to your work. I watch almost all your videos as they hit the sweet spot when it comes to practical, informative, realistic and quite frankly very useful videos. You know how to cut the rainbows and flowers and present what viewers really need to know.

My journey to the Apple World (from Linux and Android) began with your videos.

Good job sir!

hot take: there is no 'ideal' apple ecosystem and that every person has their own unique needs to make their own 'ideal' ecosystem

This video looks sooo good, this is the quality probably what all small time creators aim for.

You should do a video on open core legacy patcher and how easy it is now to keep old Macs on the latest OS

I completely agree. Even though I can’t afford the m1 iMac, I did score a 2013 iMac 27” which I use tons, and just picked up the 2018 11” iPad. Also having a 13” mbp from 2016, I feel I never really use the MacBook anymore.

my rig:
2016 15" MBP 2.9Ghz Quad, 16gb, 1TB - docked up and driving 4k monitor
2020 iPad Pro 11" 256gb w/ pencil 2
iPhone 8 Plus 64gb
Airpods Pro

Looking to switch out to a Mini when M1X is out as I'm always docked up since getting the iPad

I love MacOS, but now I’m considering using a Built Windows machine for productivity and IPad for basic computing. The iPad also doubles as a drawing tablet when using sidecar.

One thing I consider to be an important consideration to building an Apple ecosystem is to build up from a starting point, don't try and buy everything at once. I mean, if you got the cash, sure, go ahead, but most of us don't, so I think it's best to build from a starting point and spread out from there, going cheap (ie used) where you can to save money.

For example, right now I have an Apple Watch, an iPhone, and iPad and some airpods. What I lack is a Mac. I had been using my work MacBook Pro for both work and personal use for years but this last month I changed jobs and lost it. I have a new work MacBook, but it's much more locked down than my last one, so it really is only for work. I'm in the market for a Mac and I'm seriously considering going with the suggestion in this video to go with an iMac, going desktop for the first time in years.

I've recently upgraded a few weeks to a barely used but spanking new 2017 iMac 4.2Ghz i7 Quad 27inch 5K for only $800 in pristine condition on Facebook Marketplace. I upgraded from a 2012 Mac Pro 5, 1 6-Core. It is night and day in comparison. Even the macOS and apps behave DIFFERENTLY. Just blown away by the whole thing. Finally getting settled down on this iMac cause I have to upgrade my software and apps that I have on the 2012 Mac Pro 5, 1. I've been spending time learning the ins and outs of the macOS Big Sur before the next one comes out in the next few weeks or so. Just amazing. This video is on point. I've learned to purchase the Apple products that were came out just a year or two before and get the bang for my money. That's what I've doing in the past decade. Great video.

Eee this is literally going to be my set up! I have the iPad Pro 2018 12’9 and the iPhone 11 Pro and waiting for my first ever Mac to arrive! (M1 24’ silver)

I’m so excited and have been watching your vids for a while now and youve helped and taught me a lot thank you!

The other thing you forgot about was that the iPad Pro can be used in sidecar with the iMac, making the iMac workspace even larger while you are at home.

I adore the 11" iPad Pro 2018. I got mine when it was new and it's still my favorite Apple device. I still haven't gotten a magic keyboard, I might, I've given it serious thought. If I go iMac, I probably will.

Getting to the core of the Apple ecosystem… I love it, you could have a whole segment of your channel just called: the Apple Core. Also cheers to refurbished iPad Pro models… The 2018 iPad Pro is a great device!

Nice work, Luke! Using iPhone 12 mini (love it) + iPad Pro 11” 2020 + iMac 27”. And I must say - it’s a killer combo that covers everything I need. Iphone 12 mini is fantastic, it’s very small and light, carrying it everywhere. When I want to watch videos or use a pencil or need a travel computer - iPad Pro 11” does it very well and for the work (mainly photography) I use iMac 27 - still the best big screen machine in Apple ecosystem.
