The orange stuff is VC-3 which is a thread locker but not locktite. You can remove the bolts with no issues.

The sling is for the carrying case i think, and i also have no idea what that liquid is...lol

Got mine a couple of days ago took it out charged the batteries and was blown away, This thermal is truly for pesting and not actually hunting medium and large game at more than 100 yds. Can it be used to hunt coyotes yes but at less than a 100 for a really great shot, This is for PCP Air Rifles I believe thats why I bought mine and inside of 75yds this is legit bad ass. Well worth the money. The packaging was great. I had to call AGM and I left a message they called back within 5 mins probably less actually. Answered my questions flawlessly.
