I saw this earlier in the week. Apparently there was a region in france where they used to bind skulls of babies as a sort of status symbol. The more affluent in that region of France and apparently even the not so wealthy sometimes used the practice as that symbol of status. Weird if you ask me but obviously a thing in certain parts of the world.
