Just to clarify! Hyundai did already announce a base price of $39, 700 for the standard battery single motor version. It will be coming in spring 2022. We’ll also be driving the new Kia EV6 next month! Stay tuned for that!

Fun fact: 4 dots on the steering wheel represents H in morse code.

I love the pseudo 8bit styling. It’s like a future car from an 80’s film.

Thanks for showing the actual charging experience. One of the most important decision making factors in switching from an ICE vehicle to an EV.

I believe this is the first EV where it looks like a bit more than an appliance and it doesn't cost Porsche money.

I absolutely l love the styling, both exterior and interior… ESPECIALLY the interior. Hyundai did a really cool thing here by doing their own take on the spartan interior of the Teslas, but kept the important switchgear that car folk actually want (i.e. buttons & knobs.) They hit the Goldilocks zone with this one, imo.

Hard to believe Hyundai introduces a dedicated mainstream EV before the Japanese.
They're really on a roll and have a come a long way.

Who would have known that Hyundai would be leading the pack when it comes to offering great cars with innovative features for a great price. Gotta love what they are doing over there.

Super impressed with everything they packaged into this car. Definitely looks more like a hatchback, but Hyundai has a winner on their hands

God bless Hyundai!!! We just bought Palisade Calligraphy, what an amazing car! After 20 years driving Mercedes I am going full to Hyundai!

The 4 dots on the steering wheel is actually an easter egg. 4 dots in morse code translate to the English letter “H”. So it’s Hyundai’s logo in morse code. Pretty cool IMO

I remember riding Hyundai Pony I(hyundai's first mass produced hit model), which Ionic 5 inspired from. That was about 35 years ago when Hyundai was not existed in global market.

DAMN this looks nice. I love the design. Probably the first non-Tesla I would ever consider buying. That said, I won't be getting an electric until they start pushing 400 miles in the mainstream. I'm Canadian and I live out in the boonies, so until I see that kind of range I just can't use a full electric as my only vehicle year round.

I’m impressed! So glad that there will be multiple EV options when I’m ready to upgrade in 1-2 years. This would definitely be at the top of my list if I was shopping right now. Amazing potential charge times, relatively quick for a non performance EV, and more than enough range for my needs. Plus it looks really cool without looking wacky.

Sofyan's a trooper, powering through the rain to get the review done! Also, loving the looks and design of the Ioniq 5.

I love how minimalist and timeless this design is.

Other reviewers have praised the transmission stalk for being intuitive and its location. I agree, why take up space in the center floor area? Love Redline Reviews though, Sofyan covers details that most don't.

Looking at that front display, it just instantly makes more sense than having a giant screen planted in the middle.
