This is the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 5!

We know that SO many people have been looking forward to the release of this car. So the question is - does it live up to the hype?!

Well for starters, it’s no surprise that people are excited about this car given that it looks absolutely stunning! The unique headlight & taillight designs are great, and the alloy wheels look awesome! But the great looks don’t stop there - once you step inside, the minimalist interior looks really modern, and you’ll find high-quality materials throughout the cabin.

So it’s all well & good with the looks… And performance isn’t that bad either! The range-topper is powered by dual electric motors and a 73kWh battery, which combine to produce 305hp. You’ll also be able to hit a claimed range just shy of 300 miles!

Prices start at £37,000, rising to around £50,000. So… Is it worth it, especially when there are so many EV competitors out there already? Well, you know what you’ll have to do to find out - stick with Mat for his latest in-depth review!

Interestingly, 4 dots represent "H" in Morse code. Maybe it is a coded hyundai logo?

So basically comfortable, futuristic, relaxing and well-built? Dang this car looks amazing.

Both Ioniq 5 and EV6 designs hide their size really well, when I first saw the pictures I thought they were small hatchback sized and was really surprised seeing them in real life and how big they actually were

It looks very timeless. Hyundai’s designs are stepping up their game day by day

The Ioniq 5 is currently my "really, really want it" car. I always wanted a Lancia Delta HF Integrale back in the day, and this looks quite similar to it. Love the technology aspects of the Ioniq 5 too, with the Kia EV6 also a strikingly good looking car, both being part of the same company, they are offering serious competition to the likes of Tesla/Polestar/Rivian etc.

Funny video too Mat ;-)

So different and unique, yet so gorgeous. They nailed these.

It's hilariously that - due to the Ioniqs styling and proportions - Matt looks like a small boy standing next to a compact hatchback in the last shot. 🤣

I have driven 3000 miles in my Ioniq 5 now (Denmark) and I love the seats.

I used to get a sore lower back with both my ID.3 and e-Niro, but I can easily drive for 8 hours in one day without any trouble. I haven't had other cars where I could do that.

Ordered the 300hp ultimate tech, bit worried about real world range but the styling and performance really stood out for me.

Wow.. This car is exactly what I've been waiting for cars to look like. Finally a car that actually looks like we're in 2021. So tired of the same average boring looking cars. This thing looks like the future 😍

The ioniq was called the 45 and it does kind of look the same. It also pays tribute to the Giorgetto Giugiaro designed Pony.

They did an amazing job with the design.

I've had mine nearly two weeks now and love it. I've found the seats very comfortable. I went for the rear wheel 212HP for max range. It still feels quick but the 4 wheel drive must be amazing. I had a 140 mile run out in it last weekend and got 4.6 mikes/kWh which is not bad at all for a big car. I used to get 5 miles/kWh in my i3S with gentle driving which is a much lighter car.
We have had lots of positive comments from people while out driving, more than any other car I've owned.👍

I liked your review. I have this car for past 3 months now. And I absolutely love it. It is so comfy, fast, spacious, luxurious, quite and has all the features which a car must have.

Fun fact, the squared off design of the ioniq 5 is a tribute to hyundai's first car, the pony

Seen two of these in London yesterday and they’re as eye catching as most sport cars out there. Plus they actually feel innovative.

I’d buy this anyway.
