For those of you wondering why this actually wouldn’t work, the magnet would basically be pulling its own mass here. Think of it this way; if you removed the connecting rod, the car wouldn’t go toward the magnet, the magnet would go toward the car.

For thoes who wonder why the car not move with that magnet. Its answer is simply in your school textbook, Newtons 1st law or motion i.e An object remains at rest or uniform state unless a net External foce act on it. And basicaly the magnet attached to it can not applied external force as its the internal face which can't change body state.

For anyone who doesn't understand, it's basically like trying to push yourself, you're using your own Force to move your own mass, which is impossible because the force is part of the mass.

Think of this as an easier explanation. Think of the whole car-magnet system as 1 body. There is no external force on this body. Hence it won't move. The interaction between the magnets is an internal force and internal forces never lead to motion of a body as they form action-reaction pairs😊
