I thought I had a billion dollar idea. Thanks for crushing my dreams

Funny thing is that sort of thing would often work in a video game engine because they can't fully emulate physics correctly

The street has to have magnets to so it can change polarity. Just like the bullet trains in China and Japan

I'm assuming it won't move because the magnets will attract each other at an equal rate. Because the magnets are affixed to the same object, their forces will equal out and there won't be any force exerted on the vehicle itself?

Loving that I'm 40 years old with 8 years of higher education, and I had to find a kid's science channel to answer this question. 😅

But the magnet is moving! Just a tiny bit, you can see it oscillating back and forth. At the same rate, but with less speed (more massive), also the car is oscillating a teeny tiny bit on its wheels. Still, they compensate each other movement exactly so that the center of mass still doesn't move. Really interesting video all the same!

Great vid. One of those wonderful examples of how science can simplify and provide clear answers.

not sure if you still answer question but thought id ask, theory 1: if you built a lightweight small car to fit 1 human, could that person just hold a magnet while sitting in the car, theory 2: could you use a battery powered arm to encourage the magnet to pull the car, like a car powered by electricity but uses a magnet to be more fuel efficient. Let me know if any of these would work according to your knowledge, thank you

what i gathered from this video is, you need bloodbag from mad max attached to the magnet

All that needs to be done is design an object that moves the one magnet alil bit like a shake or imitate it being held/moved a bit. Once the first magnet is in motion( starting the car somehow will cause the first one to shake through a battery signal or something iono I'm not a scientist) but this could be done I'm sure

Was this the first video?!?! I found this channel because of this video and I just watched a bunch a videos before I clicked the playlist and this is the first video on it!!! What a coincidence lol then I was watching from newest down before too lol

What if a device moves the magent in front automatically.? Like the magnet is on a fan blade. The idea is to spin the magnet to help reduce the weight of the overall vehicle when in motion on the forward vector. Better elelcticle savings.

What if you attach the magnet to the vehicle in front of the vehicle? Would there be any extra exertion on the engine of the lead vehicle to "pull" the trailing vehicle? Im assuming yes, because the magnet is being pulled backwards. The question is, would it be more efficient than running two gasoline engines? I think yes.

It's almost as if the magnet needs something with it's own center of gravity in order to push/ pull the other magnet

Put a plastic cage around the fixed magnet and put the other pulling magnet right on the outside of the cage. To prevent closing of the magnets and stopping speed. Both magnets cannot be fixed to a single position

love your video, but which magnets did you use for this project?

What if you made it 2 different cars?
Build 2 cars, one with a high powered magnet in the back, the other with a nice sheet of metal in the front that a magnet can attract.
The one with the magnet also has a long pole sticking out of the back, with a rubber tip, the one with the metal sheet has a rubber tipped pole coming out of the front.
Each time the magnet car pulls the sheet car forward, the rubber tipped pole of the sheet car pushes the rubber tipped pole of the magnet car, causing both to constantly go in a forward motion, each being propelled by an outside force (the opposing car).
I'm not a physicist, so idk if this would work or not.

Can you sit on a rolling chair or something like that and use a leaf blower and point it at an umbrella to move in the direction of the umbrella?

3 magnets. 1 behind to push 1 out front to pull?

what if the second magnet was on it's own frame with a set of wheels that sat under the car with a lip on the back to grab the back of the car, essentially pulling the car as it's being propelled?
I'm sure there is some reason this won't work, just a thought and genuine curiousity
