I caught Covid, the Delta variant, and was hospitalized for 6 days with it. Before that, I was vaccinated, in shape after losing 30lbs, and eating healthy because I cut out sugars. I was also improving with my fitness, getting stronger and leaner. After the hospitalization, where I was treated as an oddity because of my age and fitness, I've had trouble breathing. Like I was an asthmatic. I developed heart palpitations and could not get out of bed as easily as I used to either. It's been almost a year now, and I just feel lethargic in my daily activities. It just takes a lot out of me to do basic chores around the house. I'm hoping my renewed interest in walking can help me get back to where I was before covid.

I’m white and have had no help whatsoever none. Most doctors here in Canada know nothing about long Covid. It’s frustrating and I guess if I can afford it I might go to a long Covid clinic. I may have to . Like you, I want my life back.

My partner and I had it back in Feb. 2020. Haven't felt the same since. Recently, we got it again. Delta. My partner almost died, O2 sats at 90 and a temp of 105. Then I got it a third time!! AND WE ARE VACCINATED AND BOOSTED!!! I wish someone would include me in these studies!

It seems the thoughts I had pre covid were totally different than post covid. I was watching things in a different perspective. On the physical side, it left me sleeping issues, tinitius, heart palpitations and sporadic anxiety. I'm 33

You should not call it Long Covid but Long Haulers. There is a big difference. Long Covid are people with severe symptoms during infection and it takes long to get over the damages done. On the other side the symptoms of fatigue and brain fog are Long Haulers symptoms. These are usually people between 25 and 55 with light cases during active infection, but after infection is done their own antibodies causing inflammation through the body, heart or brain ( brain stem or cerebellar swelling causing vertigo and dizziness ) and issues with the autonomic nervous system. I am a PT and took a course how to treat the aftermath and Long Haulers. Antiinflammatiry diet, gentle exercise, relaxation, breathing exercises to calm the nervous system. Hope this helps someone.

16 months and still short of breath and wheezy. Have asthma. Inhalers dont help. Previously healthy gym goer 5 times a week. Cant do any cardio now. Any exertion activity leads to breathlessness flare lasting weeks.

I made a comment a while back on experimenting with water fasting to combat my Long Covid. I was suffering with debilitating fatigue and PEM that would leave me unable to do the laundry. Breathlessness, the lot. Life felt on hold for the best part of a year. I did a 3 day water fast (with salt/electrolytes), and can now happily say my condition is cured. Resolved 95% within a week of the fast, brief minor recurrence of very mild fatigue for a few days here and there, now 100% gone. Just a case of rebuilding strength and cardio now. Can do full strength training sessions as per pre Covid, no PEM to speak of. I’d highly recommend people to try this, with proper research and advice from a doctor. Any questions, I’ll do my best to help. May everyone recover as fast as possible. Cheers 🙂

Had COVID 3 months ago, already vaccinated, 3 doses. Symptoms were mild and lasted about a week. 2 weeks after they came back (sore throat, headache, fatigue, body ache in general). Next 3 weeks felt better, but now I feel, permanently: mild fatigue, difficulty concentrating (Feel I cannot handle same cognitive load as before) in general and a sad mood. Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?

Absolutely true!! I was infected in April 2021 and was in bed for 2+ weeks. Almost 5 months later I was suffering with fatigue and depression. It's about end February 2022, I can go for decent walks but not fully fit like before. Have fatigue and body aches on and off !! I am about 40 and have been fit and fine before covid without any conditions!!

Ashley is so right about medical galighting in US. I also think post covid stuff may have been happening earlier. Am RN who got lower resp infection in very early 2016 took mos to clear but got every symptom of MG and quit being able to only sleep. Have had wild covid in 2020 in March and all symptoms so bad was 8 mos of hourly struggles but because of hypoxia already had O2 and bipap at home. Have had 2 abn muscle biopsies, 3 abn EMG and had diagnosis pingpong played around me. In disgust I asked to try Mestinon even without antibodies. Had positive response in 2 days but not more than 30% improvement over a yr. Some days are nearly impossible to live through. Just glad to know am not alone, even as alone.

Seems strange that most of these videos concerning long covid are from countries around the world but NONE from UK doctors who seem to reject any idea that long covid actually exists !

At the end of 2021 my husband and I had what we thoight was Omnicron. We were in Mexico at the time and testing was difficult to get. Our symptoms were mild so we decided to just quarentine. But early in 2022 I started having very painful nerve pain, fatique, mild cognative issues, forgetfulness, weight gain and breathing problems. Still, I thought my problems were related to a shoulder injury and menopause. Now, 8 months into 2023 and my symptoms have abated very little. I suspect I have long covid.

The lady with the balance issue might want to check her diet. I had similar balance issues and discovered I was consuming vast quantities of MSG. I removed the food causing the problem and returned to normal except for a thyroid condition now. My vocal chords are not normal and it feels like there is something stuck in my throat when I swallow.
