Why do the 10th Gen Microprocessors are a Big Step Forward

The newer 10th generation CPU's provide substantial improvements even with the relatively lower base clock speed. These microprocessors provide considerable performance improvements with low power consumption.
For example, the i5-1035G1 low power microprocessor shows a better performance than previous low power processors. The performance of the new i5-1035G1 is in the range of high power processors of pervious generations despite having a lower power consumption.
