I have a 2022 Apple TV 4K with 128GB since it first came out. Although, since the 2022 Apple TV 4K introduces support for HDR10+, I wish Apple can put support for DTS:X on a newer 2024 Apple TV 4K for both Disney+ IMAX Enhanced content and content on the Apple TV app that doesn’t have Dolby Atmos (Jurassic Park 1-3 and Jurassic World 1 for example). What do you think, Appleinsider?

They need to have a built in camera for FaceTime and a dag converter to actually hear the lossless hi res audio in Apple Music.

I use Apple TVs in multiple rooms of my house. In my main media room I feed the ATV into a HDMI DAC for Apple Music. I want an ATV model that outputs BIT-PERFECT AUDIO. Currently the ATV downconverts or upconverts all signals to 12/48. It’s okay by me if the ATV can’t process 24/96 or 24/192, but at least pass the stream unaltered to my DAC. It’s currently WAY too cumbersome to get high resolution music out of Apple Music. It would help if at least their own streaming device could do that.

Smart TV’s are only “smart” for awhile, then the brand maker starts informing that app services for it will discontinue and slowly features are being removed, and then you loose streaming solution on it as well. This was my reason to go ATV years back, was tired of the planned obselence of my TV from 2014 which lost features year after year, and my view, a tv primary function is to show a great image. With ATV I’m not tied to the tv builtin platform (which in newer times features forced ad and more), and when a ATV becomes aged as well, I can replace it, and continue enjoy my tv. I’m still rocking my old TV from 2014, and it still performs great and the ATV keeps it smart even if it’s shown it’s age. So moving the smart out of the tv and let the tv do it’s primary work, is something I prefer, would rather have a small box (which could become smaller apple), and keep a functional tv for more years to come
