At long last! Found someone who explains this simply and for old style valve heads. Many thanks!

Thanks for explaining it so quickly. I've been playing for 15 years and just learned that I shouldn't use an instrument cable for cabs. Whoopsies daises. Nothing ever melted on me.

Fantastic thank you! I have a V30 1x12 16ohm 2 input wired in parallel cab. Do I plug in to 1 of the 16 ohm inputs of the cab and the 16 ohm input of my Marshall or do I have to use the Marshall 8 ohm mono input ? 😅

Thanks! This is all so confusing. I've asked these questions in guitar groups but sadly many guitar players in these groups either don't want to help or they just want to show off how much they know while speaking in overly-technical terms. This was at least simple to understand.

One remaining question is, can you recommend a good mid-priced (under $500) 1x12 or 1x10, or 2x12 or 2x10 cabinet that would be good for blues, rock, and metal?

I have a Randall RH100. Which has an output of 8 ohms. I have 2 Peavey 5150 cabinets both are 16 ohms.
There is no switch of ohms except a knob with LIFT om the left side and GND on the right side. And it has 2 outputs next to that.
Off course I should put 2 cables in it 1 in the left and 1 in the right. But on what side do I have to put the switch? LIFT?Or GND?

Hi, what would be the advantage of connecting two single speaker 16-ohm cabinets in the two 8-ohm input jacks vs one single speaker 16-ohm cabinet in the 16-ohm input jack. Would you gain or lose any volume or maybe get a fuller sound. Thanks for the simplified explanation of how to figure how to properly hook up speaker cabinets.

My Valvestate Marshall Amp out puts 150 watts and says total load must not be less than 4 olms and the Marshall VS412 says 140 watts RMS and says 8 olms. Do these work with each other?

Great video. However, could you make a video how to set up all those buttons at the back of the amp so that I could get a sound from the amp? I am sure that on my 6100 LM everything works but I must have pushed some by-pass button and I am not getting any sound from my amp. Thanks.

Ive got a crate v33 head with a 2x12 cab. Only one speaker is playing. There are 2 imputs, one 8ohm, one is 16ohm. One imput plays the left speaker, and one plays out of the right. Do i get a y cable to get both speakers to work?

Great video!!! Quick question: I have a 2x16 Ohm cabinet (G12 Celestion speakers). What input should I use in my amp (Marshall AFD100)? I have available (1x8 Ohm), (1x16 Ohm), (2x16 Ohm) and (2x8 Ohm). Thanks in advance for the help.
