One of the highlights of the season next to Villainess, and Boshi. These series broke all my expectations and became weekly must see shows.

Sword reincarnation was dark and happy in a wholesome lovely way. I have picked up the manga and look forward to more anime.

Watched this show only a few month ago and it was a blast!

A little story how I found it:
Orginally, I was on quest to appreciate and understand more of Ai Kakuma, who is an incredible seiyuu and deserves her own place in pantheon of Japanese Voice Actor goddesses.

She is master of what she is doing, but at the same time I can *very rarely* recognize her voice. Like for example, Saori Hayami. If she speaks you know immediately it is her, because of her distinguishable voice.
But with Ai Kakuma it is usually goes: "Yeah, I quite liked that character", and some time after you check VAs of characters and see that it was her *again* but you didn't noticed (at least that is how it usually with me), because her voice acting range is so good.

And of course, Fran was blessed by her voice as well, and everyone who thinks otherwise is just objectively wrong and appellations are not allowed.

I could stay here for long, lengthening this comment, but you already said the most essentials, so..
Let me pin point how fire 🔥 the OST was just again. I wish there were more anime with this genres and such quality of music.
Check "Fighting black cat girl" track and it will tell you for itself.

So yeah, nice summary, anime is cool, Fran must be protected, Shisho is cool, YouTube is ass (for recommending this vid to me only now), and I can't wait for season 2!

I am super late to the party on this one, but I just finished this series earlier tonight. Wow. I absolutely loved it. The relationship between Teacher and Fran was so great. So many cool action scenes, so many funny Fran scenes, and scenes that definitely pulled at my heart strings… it was definitely worth the watch, and I hope we get a second season :)

I really loved this series, and you're right - Fran is absolutely terrific. I love sword dad too. I haven't finished the series yet, but the first 11 are amazing. I love how Fran grows from a kit all the way to the young lady that fights the (spoiler) without help - she just knows how to fight, and because of who she is, she knows has to fight. Great stuff.

I also really like that the story hasn't resorted to the cliche of creating fake friction between Fran and Sword dad to resolve it later, in order to generate story/content. I'm sure it's coming, it's hard for authors to resist such easy story. But as long as it doesn't, I'll enjoy it.

This series is a brilliant isekai for exactly the reason you point out - Fran's not overpowered, Sword dad is. So it's really easy to keep introducing significant challenges without having to escalate the peril 1000% with every next foe. And Fran is just awesome.

I think I started watching this anime because of your first video on it as it kind off flew under my radar. But I am very happy I watched it. It's one of the most wholesome isekais I've ever watched. And both me and my friend were really into it!!

It’s good to see an actual father daughter anime done right and the series handled tension well. I’m curious if levelling up will also make her grow older. The animation was very consistent too and seems like season 2 is all but confirmed. The series undeniably helped the novel’s sales and there’s more respect for the series now other than it having a niche for reincarnation into a somewhat inanimate object being a sword

It was refreshing to see an Isekai Fantasy that did not revolve around a male power fantasy building a harem of Girls *Ahem* "People with the personalities of a plank of wood"

It has its flaws like anything but it excels at making 2 main characters likeable and interesting.

Fran is a female character with motivations and some level of independence, stunning!

If you were on the fence about the show, it picks up towards the end of the first episode and changes its tone once the 2nd one starts. If you liked Somali and the Forest Spirit or If It's my Daughter, I'll Defeat a Demon Lord then this show is worth watching

As for TenKen (reincarnated as a sword), the anime is a very close adaptation of the light novel. The novels are well written and edited even though the author is new. They are very much worth a read and are my favorite light novel series of 2022.

I read the Manga and really grew to like it. It was weird but different and genuinely interesting. I'll watch the anime for sure.
