CAT5E is good for home installation..I have seen even Cat5E handle more than a Gig on short runs like you do at home. If you want to be safe do Cat6

Hi, I have 100mbps download and Im currently using cat5 (old cable) and I get 80mpbs download at 30m distance but with wifi next to router I get 95, so there is some loss. I was planning to upgrade to cat7. I know it doesnt affect the speed but wouldnt it be better for interference ?? during the speed test i realised random drops. what is your suggestion ? also I found cat7 S/FTPcable and AWG 26/7. Is 26/7 AWG bad?
