What I’ve noticed is that all the football players have big lifting numbers and Olympic lifting numbers yet aren’t that explosive-they are tense, big and slow. Me, who doesn’t Olympic lift, is faster than most of the football guys

heavy lifting should be done in beginning phases of your program normally after some cns building program this increases the maximum amount of force you can put into the ground. now we move the heavy weight fast so we can teach our bodies to handle that force at high speeds then we drop the weight more and lift light weights fast .. this will get you relatively athletic but definitely not the only thing u should be doing
