A cool game I play is called "Coffee Talk" (on Steam). I change the language to French and basically it is a story based game where you serve customers coffee and listen to their stories. It is all text based (so you read the dialogue instead of listen), but I find it very enjoyable and before you know it, you've spent a couple of hours on it, reading their conversations. It is a great game.

Easy French Channel is really amazing! They make learning French enjoyable and put a lot of cultural aspects on their videos… also it’s based on real people talk.

Ton intonation et ton débit en français sont impressionnants car ils sont proches de ceux d'un natif et c'est posé, avec de l'assurance. Assez troublant.

One of the TikTok teachers says to watch French shows. Watch the episode 2-3 times without the English subtitles and then the last time with the subtitles. That’s really helped me understand

Having tried for 40+ years to learn French, repeatedly going back to course books, the key breakthrough for me was the LingQ app. After one year of daily study (first thing in the morning with my coffee in bed), I'm probably at the B2 level now in listening comprehension. Shadowing has greatly improved my pronunciation and I've almost completed the Pimsleur course. I'm now confident enough to begin speaking with an online teacher.

Thank you for this! I am 73 years young and have recently begun learning French on my own through the resources on YouTube. What you have provided for me is a treasure trove of ideas that I am so grateful for and excited to try! You are a wonderful inspiration! 🌻

I'm honestly really glad I found this video, to see someone do all the same things i'm currently doing, gives me that extra boost of hope and motivation to keep with it! I've never taken a formal French class but I basically started with Duo, found Italki tutors to practice speaking with, Netflix in French, then Youtube started blessing me. I've been at it fairly consistent for about 9 months now I think i'm at an A2. Merci pour cette vidéo vous êtes une inspiration!

It truly is a self motivating thing. I took French from 7th grade to 11th grade. It didn't stick, but maybe some did cuz I knew everything in the first few lessons. I just started to try again by watching videos and listening to music with French lyrics and English subtitles (I realize sentence structure is different).

I'd like to think my HS French III teacher that died from a brain tumor would be proud of me for retaining the knowledge he taught me almost 30yrs ago😢
RIP Mr. Abercrombie ❤❤

It IS the most beautiful language! Yes you are my kindred spirit on this. People always come for me. Chinese Mandarin is my mother tongue, and English my daily operating language (learned it at age 11). Currently trying to learn French. It's not easy for someone whose mother tongue is so different. But it is SO satisfying when I speak, and French people can understand me and it's just...an amazingly powerful feeling. Not to mention the world of incredible French literature that becomes available to you, once you master this language (I'm still in the beginning stage).

This is completely unrelated, but you give off such a Helena Boham Carter vibe

And also this video is fantastic

Besides, I understood everything you said in your video even if you spoke very quickly. Your French accent is perfect and I also appreciated your articulation in English.

See ya mate ! 🤗

This is just what I needed! I am currently learning French just because I love the language and also to improve myself. Thank you so much. These tips are going in my notes! The tip about reading the Bible in French was fantastic. Merci beaucoup et que Dieu vous bénisse ❤🙏🏾.

I dont know how I ended up on your video. I’m French and was actually looking for videos to help me improve my Italian level 😆 But your suggestions are really helpful anyway ! Especially the language reactor, what a great tool ! Thank you so much !

I want to recommend the channel French Comprehensible Input to everyone here. It's run by a guy who is also teaching languages at a school and he explains things really well and completely in french.

In Duolingo I do get caught up in maintaining my streak, at the expense of really learning anything new.
