"I can't do this anymore" is exactly what made my boyfriend break up with me. We started off as a normal couple, living three hours by train apart, we'd visit each other every other weekend, if one of us had off days, we'd spend a week together. It was wonderful and we were absolutely sure we were meant for each other. Then he had to return to America, while I had to stay in Germany. We were confident in our love, we became a long distance couple. We talked every day as much as we could. It wasn't a lot because of time difference, work and life. But we managed and I was so happy. I never in my life loved someone as much as him and I've never met a guy like him. I believe he is the right person for me and judging from experience and my surroundings, I'm sure I won't find someone like him again.
After only one month into long distance, he started talking less and less to me. I wanted to talk about it, find solutions together. But as I tried that, he broke up. It doesn't make me happy, he said. I can't make you happy, he said. Even after I told him, I can visit you in spring and I can move to you in autumn, he refused to keep this going.
It hurts so much, I've never felt this much pain before. It was easy to get over other relationships but this one was special. I love him so much, still! That pain is on another level and I just don't know how to deal with it. I wish we were as strong as those LDR-couples in this comment section.

It started with social media, but as soon as I got the chance to meet him in real life, I went over there and was just sure I wanted a relationship with him. I see him once per 2 months, but I just love him and I just feel like it's all worth it if it's the right person. Don't let others bring you in doubt.

I'm in an ldr too. But our relationship is still new. I wish it's easy like a bus ride no matter how many hours it takes. But he's in another country. And the only way to see each other is through a plane ride which would take almost a day. He doesn't need a visa for my country but I'll need a visa if I visit him. 😞 I just think those and the time difference are the biggest hurdles in our relationship. I'm happy with him though. And we talk everyday, though it's not everyday we do video calls because we have other things to do but we always try to text each other even if we're busy. I don't think trust is a problem because if we don't trust each other why would we even be in an ldr. 🤔 We are very honest to each other. He tells me everything and I tell him everything. But since we're still new to this, there's still a lot more we need to discover about each other and I'm looking forward to knowing him more and his family. ❤
