I've been wearing contact lenses for probably around 4 years now, and I haven't experienced any negative effects. I take them out every night and soak them in solution, and I switch lenses once a month, so that might have something to do with it. Although, I have noticed that if I leave them in for too long or accidentally fall asleep wearing them, my eyesight gets blurry and they kinda stick to my eyes, but that's a rare occasion.

Contacts dry out your eyes, but why don't glasses? Because glasses hold water, I drink from them all the time.

The contacts ripped part of her eye off in just 10 hours? Isn’t that the normal wear time of contacts though?

Man, I just put my first lenses today, and then I come home to find this video in my box.

i just had that exact thought less than 5 seconds before opening my subscriptions. was struggling to see as they were drying out and thought about swapping to glasses. it wasn't important enough to google, and there the video was waiting for me.

I got some contact lenses for free, tried to wear them and then noped out of there. I'm fine with glasses, I don't need things in my eyes thank you very much. I'll wait for surgery if I don't want to wear contacts.

I'll stick to my glasses then. I forget that I'm wearing them often enough, I'd probably forget that I'm wearing contacts even more often so I simply won't risk it

I'm a glasses wearer and did try contact lenses for a while but ultimately went back to my specs - just couldn't work with the idea of putting something directly into my eye.

Most of these facts only apply to the one day use contacts in my opinion. I use the type where I wear them day and night and replace them monthly. I’ve been wearing them for six years and have never had problems. Just follow your optometrist’s directions and advice and tell them about any concerns.

Been wearing contacts daily, 12-15 hours everyday for about 25 years, what I've learned is; take them out at night, keep them clean, when they start to feel dirty throw them away and use a new pair, keep your storage case and solution clean. Give your eyes a break with glasses when you can because oxygen deprivation is real and will cause issues.

I will stick with my glasses, thanks. Easier to put on, and easier to take off.

This just reaffirmed my fear of changing to contacts 🙃 I’ll stick with my specs thanks ✌🏻

This video made contacts seem like a bad thing. They're FINE. I love my contacts and wear them for 15 hours a day with no issues at all. I plan on getting laser eye surgery as well. People in my family have had contacts for 30+ years and successfully came out of the laser eye surgery. Just make sure you take them out before bed and you'll be fine!

This actually isn't true, at one point I had left my contacts in for a little over a year and to say little to none of this happened would be pretty spot on, it may be different for other people but the main issue with not removing your contacts is your eyes won't get enough oxygen and you'll develop something called corneal neovascularization which basically means if you don't stop you'll be going blind, not to say you guys got it wrong but you sure didn't get it right either

I don't think I've ever felt so fortunate that I just stick to glasses.
