i just upgraded to 18, hoping it fixes my affects problem. Trying hard to figure things out with this new digital camera. My affects seem to flash and change colros like a stobe light. any ideas? thank you love your show.

Love your vids! Just thought you'd like to know that the SCENES in which you appear have a noticeable hum in the audio.. Mic problem or wiring problem- i.e. balanced vs unbalanced?

Do you know why When I make a clip the end of it ends up freezing and when I export sometimes it says it has a problem with the timeline and wont do it. Ive watched videos and it don't seem like im doing it wrong but im new to this. Just looking for some info

GREAT TUTORIAL/REVIEW!!! Just getting my feet wet with S18U...BIG change from S14 (my last venture with Pinnacle Studio). ONE QUESTION...is it possible to import Sony XDCAM files directly into S18U? XDCAM files come as a bundle of files (which include an Mpeg4) in individual folders. Am currently using another program to export XDCAM to a usable file for S18U, but I would really like to avoid this extra step if I can.

Great quick review. One note though. Red Giant does not come with PS18 Ultimate. You have to already have it in PS17U. It will "bridge" to it.
I've installed the program without a problem. I have it along with Avid Studio, PS16U, and PS17U. Everything working fine so far. A much better release than PS17.
The NewBlue addons, both in Effects Editor AND transitions are great. The Effects addons are extensive and I know can not be covered in a quick overview of the product release. But those that get PS18U, spend time looking at what these powerful plugins can really do. Also, go to NewBlueFX's website to see overviews of them. Amazing.

  I looked a lot closer at the differences in the software between Studio 18 Standard and Studio 18 Plus.  I was surprised at what I was missing out on by not purchasing the Plus version.  I immediately contacted Pinnacle and asked if I there was anything I could do up  upgrade to Studio 18 Plus.  Pinnacle within a blink of an eye immediately got me in touch with tech support who in turn refunded my money for the standard software and I then ordered Studio 18 Plus.  It was that simple.  I was amazed.  Great way to do business.  I should have the new software in my hands in another week or so as I opted to have a hard disk of the software rather than a download.  Just feel more confident that I can get it reloaded on to my computer if I ever have to in the future.  So all is good and I can't wait to work with the new features in Studio 18 Plus.  I'll also have to take another look at your videos so I can get caught up before the software arrives.  Have a good one.  Dave

So here are my thoughts after reviewing your video.
1. Faster is better, the 64 bit arcture is great exspecily when combined with doing stuff on the video card.
2. I like having the "Marks" in the editor, for quick exports.  This is really of value for a 15s clip out of a two hour video.  Also for exporting a single image; I know that this can be done at another point, but I keep forgetting.
3. I wish that an "author" config would refer back to an "edit" config.  This way I can edit a movie and have several outputs.  If I make change to a movie, then all of the "outputs" would get the new changes.
4. I just upgraded to 17 in July and all my work is charity, so 18 is not in the near term.

Dude if Pinnacle Studio isn't paying you yet they should be ashamed .. you solve more problem for folks using their software then their support folks ever will and you're no doubt responsible for a lot of folks choosing their software .. I know I upgraded because of your channel
