This device comes in handy when 1) You can't get sound from TV box through your TV's built-in audio output port not matter what you do. and 2) You'd like to connect a Sound Bar/Stereo Receiver/Audio Adapter to your TV but can't reach TV's audio output port.

I can’t get sound from my RCA TV audio out ports into my stereo receiver. Coaxial doesn’t work either. The TV’s sound works. I do however get sound out of the earphone Jack only. I send it to the stereo receiver but sound quality isn’t that good.

I recently purchased a lg tv (for it's size to fit a custom cabinet) but it doesn't have audio out. Has two HDMI ports, one I am using for my apple tv. I want to connect it to my Bose Lifestyle system which is the surround sound and the DVD player. The Bose system doesn't have a HDMI port. It does have Opitcal In and Out if that does anything for me. Sorry I'm not too tech savy with all these plugs. Will this work for me or do you have something else?
