As a kid, my first exposure to Spidey was the Raimi movies. I always thought the organic webs were the default, and was disappointed to learn that his typical webs are something he invented himself. Nowadays I like both types equally.

Raimi's webs may not be comic accurate but they're much more accurate to the idea of gaining a Spider's abilities. Like I get his inventiveness and high IQ are important but there are other ways to show that, like how in "The City that Never Sleeps" (a DLC to the 2018 Spider-Man game) it's revealed Peter does math in his head while swinging, comparing himself to a pendulum.

when I was a young lad I was actually shocked and kind of saddened to learn most iterations of the hero use artificial webbing. I always liked and preferred the idea of Peter’s inner biology changing in such a way for him to grow spinnerets inside his arms. The concept sounded way cooler to me than technological web-slingers.

fun fact: in spiderman one peter trying to figure out what hand formation he had to use for the webs to come out is not a part of the script but the director found it funny so he kept it in

I think a fun idea would be if peter could produce organic webbing, but it doesn't shoot out. Peter would have to make a web shooter that pressurizes his natural webbing

Weird fact: The Japanese Spiderman is the reason why the Super Sentai series even existed, it took 16 installments of the Super Sentai series to be localized to the US, they took Zyuranger and made the very first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Heck, Stan Lee really loved the Japanese Spider-man as well.

My conceptualization of Spiderman was that he was bit by a radioactive experimental spider so it always made the world of sense to me that his physiology was altered to have natural spinaretts. I've never been able to buy the idea of a gizmo attached to his hand.

the organic web-shooters make the most sense to me. He got bit by a spider so he should be able to make webs

I prefer the organic webs because him being a super genius enough to manufacture his insanely advanced web shooters alone, as a young adult, greatly reduces his relatability to me as being an otherwise normal guy outside his powers.

What's the point of having the abilities of a Spider if you can't use the main one like a Spider.

I think Spiderman having organic webs, makes him a more unique character. Without the webs, he's just a strong, durable guy, with an amazing reaction time. Very dull. Captain America, Superman -flight, Wonderwoman -flight, Hulk (scaled down tremendously), thor -flight, Black Panther, etc.

Also, Raimi/Tobey Mcguire's Spiderman was not unintelligent. Yes there was much less focus on him being a complete nerd, but those movies are much more heartfelt. A bit awkward and cheesy, but Raimi looked at the soul of who and what made Spiderman an attractive character. It's his empathy, humanity.

Not that all others fail to capture the same/similar ideas, but of the live actions, even if he's not comic accurate, he is probably the best.

I like how we all unanimously agree it makes way more sense to make spiderman have the natural ability to make webs

Japanese Spider-Man bears a resemblance to MMPR because they were made by the same people. Let me explain. Supaidaman, as it is also known, is a tokusatsu series, meaning it makes heavy use of special effects. Other tokusatsu franchises include Godzilla and other kaiju films, as well as superhero series such as Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai. Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are both produced by Toei Company (the parent company of One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Sailor Moon's animation studio Toei Animation) and the latter was adapted into the Power Rangers franchise, dubbing the action scenes over and making new scenes with American actors. Not only are Super Sentai and Supaidaman in the same genre, they are both made by Toei, and the latter is a result of a multi year partnership with Marvel that created some of the early Super Sentai series. The inclusion of the giant robot (or mecha) Leopardon in Supaidaman and its success led Toei to include Mecha in every Super Sentai series from that point, and those mecha would become what we know as Megazords in Power Rangers.

TLDR; Power Rangers is based on a Japanese show in the same genre and produced by the same company as Japanese Spider-Man, hence the similarity.

I like the idea of organic webs because otherwise the only thing spiderlike about his powers is his strength and acrobatics. Besides, there's FAR more ways to show petetes intelligence with the multitude of other spider gadgets he goes on to create. I think the organic webs are a nice round off to the spider powers of strength and agility.

JP Spider-Man doesn’t resemble power rangers - it’s the reason power rangers happened
