John MacArthur: MY FREE WILL

Dr. John MacArthur is—far and away—America’s greatest Bible teacher. In 2015, I had a burning desire to understand what the Bible really meant, however, everywhere I searched, all
I found was grossly undereducated men who called themselves “preachers” or “pastors” who were chiefly interested in:
1. Making money
2. Gaining popularity
3. Spreading a false gospel

It was quite obvious to me they had very little Biblical knowledge.

MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this YouTube channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.

Here you will find a wealth of information on virtually any subject in God’s Word. You can search by scripture, Books of the Bible, or keywords.

Excellent video. When in my 20's, I went to a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting at a university. I listened to beautiful music and the Gospel preached. Later when going home with my female friend who took me, she asked if I wanted to receive Jesus into my heart. I said NO. 18 years later, out of the clear blue sky, I started to lovingly think about Jesus. He became my obsession and the lover of my soul.

I now realize that I couldn't accept him in my 20's because I was dead in my trespasses and sins. But like Lazarus, being dead in the tome, Jesus called me with an irresistible Grace that I could not refuse.

Jesus comes for his own, the elect, being drawn by the power of the Holy Spirit. These are the one's that God, the Father, has appointed and Jesus will lose none of them.

I listen to many pastor's and they tell there congregation all they have to do is give themselves to God, But I don't agree, we are all in darkness and the only way to God is to have God living in our heart.

To the unregenerate, sin is irrestible.
To the regenerated, sin is repulsive.

A plain reading of the Bible would suggest we have free will and can use that free will to, as sinners, come to Christ. The only way to think the Bible teaches otherwise is to start with that theology and then search the Bible to try and find it. You then will find that theology in the Bible, but that could be said about any false theology. If your theology is purely derived from scripture rather than your theology being imposed on scripture then you would believe we have free will.

What changes our mind? The Word of God. We hear it, we’re convicted of our sin, we repent and believe. We are capable of thinking. We are made in Gods image. Everyone has the same opportunity when they hear Gods Word to accept it or reject it. We are not regenerated first. You can’t have an ah ha moment without hearing the Word of God. Again we hear the Word, we repent and believe then we’re saved.

If God wants everyone to be saved and if we don’t have the free will to choose Him, then why isn’t everyone saved?

Many do want to choose to be saved and do and so they are therefore the Chosen of God for salvation in Christ responding to Gods call on all mankind to come to His Son in repentance and faith.
