Fly High, Skyking

While this video isn't along the lines of what I usually post, as it isn't an animation nor is it directly doomer related, it is something I've been thinking a lot about lately. Richard "Skyking" Russell was one of us. He was a normal guy who was pushed to extremes. No one really knows his motives or seems to care to ask why Richard, a seemingly happy man, would take a plane and end his life in it. It's sad his story wasn't strong enough for any more information on him or his reasoning to break through to the public, though they aren't necessarily needed. We may not know much about Richard or what finally broke the camels back, but we do know that for some minutes, Skyking was the freest man on earth as he sored amongst a setting sky. I find his story incredibly inspirational, much to the likeliness of Marvin Heemeyer and his trusty steed, the Killdozer. Skyking, I hope you found peace to rest your troubles as you kissed the sky and walked amongst angels.

As promised, another video for you all before the release of the Valentine's day special I'm making. I apologize for the lower quality of the footage, It was quite difficult to find any at all. As I mentioned in the description, this isn't really the type of video I usually post as it has no animation in it. The story it tells is too strong to ignore though. I hope you all enjoy it and are able to take something away from it. To quote the Martin Scorsese movie The King of Comedy, "(It's) better to be king for a night than a schmuck for a lifetime." So many news articles and even Wikipedia call him a mentally ill thief. Disgraceful. He was a man with a dream that could never be fulfilled. He lived his dream, and died knowing he’d never outlive the moment he made. If only he was alive to see the impact he made. God bless Sky King.

Man this actually made me cry. He sounded like such a nice guy and didn’t even want to hurt anyone. Life sucks and he was done with such a battle. He just wanted to have a great view while leaving this world.

What a tragic story, from what I understand he actually wanted to become a pilot but wasn’t able to. A man who wasn’t able t achieve his dream and was eaten away at it, and yet still died living his dream
