Windows 12 Leaked By Microsoft — Here is First Look!, Microsoft accidentally revealed a UI design prototype for the next version of Windows at Ignite 2022

Microsoft is hard at work on the next version of Windows, which is commonly referred to as "Next Valley" internally. I had reported in July that Microsoft was returning to a three-year development cycle for the next major version of Windows.

Microsoft has struggled to find a balance between touch and mouse users with previous versions of Windows. Windows 8 was too touch-centric, and Windows 10 was too mouse-centric. Windows 11 attempts to find a balance, but it still leans more toward mouse input first and touch input second.

Before anyone makes any assumptions, Windows 12 has most likely only just started development a few months ago, which is the reason it still looks a bit like Windows 11, in 2023 or 2024 we might see a lot more changes than what we have seen

Honestly, if they started building a new Windows operating system from scratch with the latest technologies - Even if it takes many MANY years -, it would outperform any other system.
Building on top of past versions does nothing but clutter the system.

This is just an early concept, I'm sure it will be much different when released. We will see how it is when the actual insider builds are developed.

I think this new ui is even worse than Windows 11's which already sucks due to its lack of usability and its bugs as well as how annoying it is, so I kinda disagree with the people who like the early Windows 12 because it looks and seems like a even worse clone of windows 11 ui

Hopefully they can make a stable and better store. Copying is not bad.. I would say they should copy the Mac stability.

No thanks. The search bar takes up valuable space at the top and probably only searches on Bing. I don't need constant reminders of the weather or the time. I'd be fine if they wanted to include the weather as an option on the taskbar, because that's something I have hidden most of the time, but the search functionality of the taskbar is pointless.

If the UI's clean, maybe, maybe it is something to port about eventually (of knowledge focusing on walked compassion).

How about just letting people choose what they want their operating system to look like. If they want the new stuff, go for it. But there should be an option to let it look/operate like some of our past systems, ie. windows 10, 8, or 7. I think they would get a lot less blow back if they would just stop making changes to be making changes. Most people aren't wanting these changes, and they are going to get a lot of blow back it if they continue down this path.

Ahh! Actually, the top bar is a nice feature to have. Never really thought to use a search bar on the top though.

Now excuse me, I'll have to make some adjustments to my linux partition😉.
