If I gotta pay to not see ads with windows, I am 100% switching to linux

If I have a legit, paid copy of 10 which I've upgraded to 11 and probably gonna upgrade to 12 I should already have the premium. At the very least I should *never* have forced ads on my OS.

I am sorry, but most of these things are already in windows 11 and also Cortana is deprecated

If I can't buy a license and it's either I pay for a subscription or I get adds in windows....that's the day I switch to apple. I don't want to...but subscription services are waaaay out of control these days!

are they going to make it easy to change how the UI looks because I'm looking at the UI and I really don't like it.

i think Microsoft does not know that all we want windows to be a clean lite smooth experience and freedom to choose our own application installed

like windows 7 was and windows 10 also provide enough freedom unlike 11

Andromeda is actually the codename for the OS that was initially made for the Surface Duo... They ceased development of that ages ago to use Android instead sadly. Also CoreOS is now called CorePC, which to me says they have abandoned other form factors.

Win12 version looks impressive and hopefully has fixed issues with tracking and configuration issues that win11 has a few minor issues with. Though having AI on board can you opt out? Or possibly use it differently.
Win12 and browsers can you say if Edge is getting a major improvement in future-proofing it and ease of use functionality? And one thing is important to have an alternative swap back option to win11 without reinstalling Win 11 a useful one if you think about it say if you prefer Win11 and hidden away inside the interface of both a taskbar feature switch. Essentially a little trick to use if you are a fan of win11 and this could be useful as a multi-task feature as a secret OS sandbox as well. There was something similar on XP OS I think?

It sounds very intrusive, else, it doesn't actually offer anything "new" or useful. Ever since Vista, all we've been using is a skinned Windows XP with slightly modified driver models and minor under the hood changes... and a shtload of security patches that weren't even necessary (90% of risks are hypothetical, some were even proven to not be possible, period, thus bloat). Pre-reset Longhorn was a revolutionary change, the way files are accessed would have been unlike anything we use today, for an OS. WinFS was the backbone IMO, rather than relying on big companies (the cloud) with your data, it was all local and in your complete control. Utilizing local data to interact with websites, rather than websites interacting with your data, somewhere along the lines, we were forced into a situation where external entities call the shots, not you. I don't think Longhorn was scrapped due to buggy and unorganized code, someone bought up Microsoft and terminated the project. They never would have had access to your data without terminating pre-reset longhorn.

The examples you give are already available? And isn’t Cortana dead?

I'm hearing that they will call it by the year, Windows 24, Windows 25, and it will be a yearly Subscription and more AI and cloud to be included.
