Dewalt Battery Cell Voltage Test ⚡

How to test a dewalt battery and identify a bad cell. This video shows how to test the voltage on individual cells in a dewalt Xr 18v or 20v max battery. This video is a follow up to a previous video I posted of how to repair a battery that is not charging. That video showed a method of jump starting a battery that had been sitting discharged for too long. This video shows the next step if the jump start doesn't work.
The cell test is carried out using a volt meter the good cells were showing about 3.7 to 3.9 volts. The bad cells in this case two in number showed roughly 2.4 v and 1.6v. These cells drop the overall voltage of the battery too low for the charger to recognise it as a flat battery. Replacing the cells after the jump start method is attempted seems to be the natural course of action.

Each set 2 cells is in parallel. So you are actually testing 2 cells each time.
You need to split them to test individually.

Any clue how to do that for a skateboard battery? Because my lithium battery is full of wires going everywhere. Theres a circuit board too, so it's more complex.

unless they are seperated will you not get a reading from the other cells

There is a pair of batteries connected in parallel in this battery pack; you don't need to measure every battery .. you just need to measure every pair.

"unless they are separated will you not get a reading from the other cells" yes you will, this video should be pulled as misleading
